Marlins designated INF Greg Dobbs for assignment. For some reason, the Marlins decided to give Dobbs a one-year, $1.7 million extension last September, but now they are ready to turn the page. The 35-year-old is hitting .220/.293/.288 batting line over 280 plate appearances dating back to the start of last season. Ed Lucas has been activated from the disabled list and will take his place on the active roster.
