Mariners optioned OF Carlos Peguero to Triple-A Tacoma; reassigned RHP Carson Smith and INF Nick Franklin to minor league camp. None of them had a real shot at earning an Opening Day roster spot, though Peguero made it hard on them by batting .341 with three homers. He'll be up at some point this season.
