Mariners designated OF Casper Wells for assignment. Wells lost out to Jason Bay for the final outfield spot and is out of options. He hasn't hit a ton at the big league level but has a bit of pop and can play all three outfield positions. It wouldn't be a surprise if he's scooped up on waivers.
