Manager Paul Molitor is insistent that Vogelsong is only a candidate for a rotation spot and will not compete for a bullpen role, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The veteran was signed as a non-roster invitee over the winter, and although he's pitched very few innings this spring, the Twins quelled any thoughts of him moving to relief by simply stating that he's progressing at a veteran's pace this spring. Minnesota's rotation is anything but set in stone as of now, but there are a lot of arms clamoring for the last couple spots, so Vogelsong seems to be facing an uphill climb to garnering a major league roster spot.
