Manager Dave Roberts listed Beachy as one of the two favorites to replace the injured Brett Anderson (back) in the Dodgers' rotation, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beachy joined the Dodgers with only an outside chance to earn a spot in the rotation, but a number of injuries -- including the one Anderson suffered that will sideline him 3-to-5 months -- have helped his chances, as the battle for the fifth starter job now figures to come down to him and Mike Bolsinger. Beachy may have more upside than his counterpart, but Bolsinger made 21 starts for the Dodgers last season while the injury-prone Beachy made just 20 starts total over the last four years, so the Dodgers may simply opt for the more reliable option.
