Manager Craig Counsell said Garza will no longer start Sunday's game against the Nationals, but he's still expected to remain in the team's rotation down the stretch, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Garza has struggled mightily over his past five starts, compiling a 9.28 ERA and 15:16 K:BB over 21.1 innings of work, so the Brewers will skip his next turn in the rotation as they allow the 33-year-old to gather himself. It's unclear who will start in his place Sunday, but Brent Suter (shoulder) and Junior Guerra appear to be the likely options. While Counsell hasn't confirmed when Garza will make his next start, he said he expects the veteran right-hander to see some starts in in September as the Brewers continue to reshuffle their rotation.
