Lincecum indicated Sunday that his arm felt a little "tight" a day after it was on the receiving end of a line drive, but noted that he was experiencing now obvious swelling, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Even so, manager Bruce Bochy hinted that Lincecum would likely be ticketed for the disabled list. "Timmy, like all those guys, is not going to want it, but it's a no-brainer," manager Bruce Bochy said in reference to a DL stint for Lincecum. Lincecum's likely DL stint may have more to do with his stark decline in performance his last two games rather than as a result of any real injury. The right-hander has been tagged for eight runs and has given up 11 hits and three walks over those outings, while failing to get out of the second inning on either occasion. With the Giants in need of clearing out spots for Matt Cain (forearm) and Jake Peavy (back), both of whom are scheduled to return this week, Lincecum will head to the DL for the first time in his career. Assuming they still have five healthy starters on hand after the All-Star break, it's possible the Giants will use Lincecum in a relief role during the second half.
