Lincecum (forearm) threw three simulated innings on the bullpen mound Friday, CSN Bay Area reports. Manager Bruce Bochy said Lincecum still "needs a little work" and that he was "a touch behind" Tim Hudson (shoulder), who also tossed three simulated frames. It's still a step in the right direction for Lincecum, though the team does not have any immediate plans to send him for a rehab assignment and it doesn't have any incentive to rush him back with both Matt Cain and Jake Peavy pitching well.
