Lee (elbow) was diagnosed with a tear in the flexor tendon in his throwing elbow, Sports Illustrated reports. The Phillies are apparently "not terribly optimistic" about the situation, but the 36-year-old Lee will attempt to pitch through the injury. Whether that's a realistic option remains to be seen, but if Lee is experiencing continue discomfort, he'll likely need to undergo surgery, which would entail a six-to-eight month recovery period. Lee speculated that if surgery is necessary, it could possibly end his career.
