Juan Gutierrez will undergo Tommy John surgery on September 6. Gutierrez was originally placed on the disabled list in late-May with right shoulder inflammation, but his elbow has emerged as the bigger issue. The 28-year-old right-hander will now be sidelined for most, if not all, of the 2012 season.
