Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Reds and Sean Marshall are making progress on a multi-year extension and a deal could be announced early this week. Details of the contract aren't available at this point. Marshall is currently slated to earn $3.1 million in 2012 before hitting free agency over the winter. The left-hander has emerged as one of the better left-handed setup men in the league, boasting an impressive 2.45 ERA since the start of the 2010 season. He'll set up for Ryan Madson this season.
