Joe Mahoney went 2-for-3 and drove in both Marlins runs before being removed for a pinch-hitter Tuesday. Rather than see what Mahoney could do in a lefty-lefty matchup against Glen Perkins in the ninth, the Marlins decided to send up Chris Valaika instead. He struck out. Mahoney is 3-for-12 with three RBI while helping to fill in for Casey Kotchman the last five days. He has a bit of short-term value in NL-only leagues.
