Joe Mahoney smashed the first home run of his major league career on Friday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Marlins to victory over the Cubs. Mahoney's fourth inning blast off Scott Feldman was his only hit in four trips to the plate on the evening. He's hitting .280/.280/.440 with a homer and four RBI through his first eight games. It looks like he'll see regular action hitting in the cleanup spot for the Marlins, which adds to his value and certainly makes him worthy of a look in most mixed leagues.
