Joe Frisaro of MLB.com is reporting that Matt Diaz is at the Winter Meetings in search of landing a role with a big league team. Diaz underwent microfracture surgery on his right knee back in May and was considering retirement. He was able to play in only ten games in 2013 with the Marlins, logging just three hits in 18 at-bats. In the past, he has hit lefties well, so he could be a cheap fit for a team looking to bolster their bench. He will be 36 years old when the season begins.
