Hector Gomez has outplayed Jimenez since the start of the season, prompting the Brewers to expose Jimenez to waivers and retain Gomez as a bench player while clearing space on the roster for Carlos Gomez to return from the DL. If he clears waivers, Jimenez will try to get on track at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
