Jeremy Guthrie limited the Tigers to one run in 6 2/3 innings in a victory Wednesday. Incredibly, he struck out nine for the second straight start. Prior to last week, he had just six nine-strikeout games in 229 career starts. Perhaps more incredibly, Guthrie also committed his sixth error of the season in the game. That's three more than any other pitcher in MLB and two more than any pitcher had during the entire 2013 season. The last pitcher to have more than six in a season was Matt Garza, who committed seven in 2011.
