St. Louis Cardinals infielder Jedd Gyorko (hamstring) is taking batting practice. He is still about a week away from a rehab assignment and therefore about two weeks away from returning to the team, assuming everything goes as planned once he starts running again. The Cardinals have been using Matt Carpenter as their main third baseman, with Jose Martinez getting starts at first base.
