New York Mets infielder Jed Lowrie (knee) is close to beginning a minor league rehab assignment. Lowrie has reportedly been working out and is close to being able to play in minor league games. He's missed the first four weeks of the season due to a capsule sprain in his left knee. Lowrie is expected to rejoin the Mets at some point in May.
