Jason Kubel will earn $2 million in 2014 if he makes the Twins' Opening Day roster and can earn another $1 million via incentives. Kubes will earn $150,000 if he reaches 300 and 350 plate appearances, and will pocket an additional $200,000 if he makes 400 PAs. An additional $150,000 is available for spending 30 and 60 days on Minnesota's active roster and Kubel will net $200,000 if he makes it to 90 days. Kubel and the Twins reunited last week on a minor league contract. Kubel slugged 30 home runs for the Diamondbacks in 2012 but careened to an ugly .216/.293/.317 slash line with five homers over 97 contests this past season. The veteran outfielder should see plenty of starts at the corner outfield spots and DH.
