Izturis suffered a right groin strain Friday, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports. Little is known about the injury at this time, but the team will surely provide an update in the near future. With Opening Day just 16 days away, Izturis' status could be in jeopardy, depending upon the severity of the injury. If he's slated to miss an extended period of time, Devon Travis, with whom he's been competing for the second base job in spring training, has a better chance to crack the Opening Day roster.
