Izturis (groin) was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday, John Lott of the National Post reports. Izturis was shut down last week due to a groin strain, and was fully expected to begin the year on the disabled list. In his stead, Devon Travis will open the season as the Blue Jays' starting second baseman.
