Iwakuma (shoulder), who will start for Triple-A Tacoma against Salt Lake on Monday, is projected to throw roughly 70 pitches over 5-6 innings, Bob Dutton of The News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander will look to follow up his strong showing for High-A Modesto last Wednesday with a longer outing against a better caliber of competition. Assuming he emerges with no setbacks and completes his projected workload, Iwakuma will likely be activated. "He's not a 115-pitch guy anyway," pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre said. "If we can get him to 70-75 (pitches), he can come back and pitch for us and hope to get five or six (innings) and 85."
