Romo (1-1) took the loss Friday's as the A's were downed 11-10 by the Blue Jays, failing to record an out in the ninth inning while giving up three hits capped by a walkoff three-run home run by Marcus Semien.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander completed a total meltdown by the Oakland bullpen that saw three relievers, including erstwhile closer Lou Trivino, cough up nine runs in the final two frames. Romo was still the guy stuck with the blown save though, his third of the year, and while Trivino's recent back spasms and poor performances may have thrown open the ninth-inning role, Romo isn't making a strong case to claim it with a 6.23 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over his last nine appearances and 8.2 innings.
