Hector Gimenez is expected to serve as the primary backup to White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers in 2013. Despite playing just 11 major league games in his career, the 30-year-old backstop is in a position to earn his first significant playing time. A capable defender, who can also play the outfield in a pinch, Gimenez does have upside offensively. He's smashed 41 homers and driven home 183 runs over the last three seasons in the minor leagues, spanning 259 games. Should Tyler Flowers prove incapable of handling the job full-time, Gimenez could have value in deep two-catcher formats.
