Hamilton will begin the 2016 season on the disabled list due to left knee inflammation. The Rangers expect him to return by May 1.
EDGE Analysis
For a player with a history of injuries (played just 50 MLB games in 2015 and 89 in 2014), it's not a good sign that he won't start his campaign at the same time as his teammates. When healthy last season, the 34-year-old outfielder did show he still has power (eight home runs, 25 RBI over the 50-game span). Potential owners will now need to weigh in a shortened season when looking at the veteran, but if he can remain healthy after returning, Hamilton could provide a nice return on a discounted investment.
