Guthrie was strong during Sunday's win against the Athletics, allowing just two runs with seven strikeouts and one walk across six innings. The veteran ran into a bit of trouble in the third inning when he allowed both runs after putting men on base, but was able to minimize the damage and shut it down the rest of the way. Guthrie's ERA is still an ugly 5.68, but he has allowed more than three earned runs just twice in his last 10 starts. His next start will come Friday against Minnesota.
