Guthrie took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on 10 hits and a walk over five innings, striking out four. He's managed just three quality starts in 12 outings this season, and Guthrie's 5.79 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 29:20 K:BB ratio in 65.1 innings make him all but unrosterable in just about any format. Joe Blanton is joining the rotation in place of Jason Vargas (hip), but if Blanton is even adequate it could be Guthrie who loses his spot when one of the Royals' injured starters returns from the DL. In the short term though, his next start will come on Thursday, at home against the Brewers.
