Grimm was optioned back to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Grimm took the place of Jason Hammel (personal) on the roster last week, and he'll now head back to Iowa with Hammel officially removed from the bereavement list Tuesday. The right-hander made only one appearance during this latest stint with the Cubs, throwing a scoreless inning in a win over the Marlins on Wednesday.
