Giants declined OF Andres Torres' $3 million option for the 2014 season. The Giants will instead pay a $500,000 buyout. The 35-year-old outfielder is coming of a .250/.302/.342 line in 103 games with the Giants, but missed the final month of the regular season after undergoing surgery to remove bone spurs from his left Achilles. He's expected to be ready for the start of spring training, and should be able to find a team willing to let him compete for a reserve outfielder role.
