Getting the nod in the closer's role with Edward Mujica resting, Mitchell Boggs gave up a homer to the first batter he faced Thursday and blew the save against the Royals. Jeff Francoeur hit a line-drive homer on Boggs' second pitch of the outing. Mujica definitely needed the rest tonight, but Trevor Rosenthal should been available and it was quite the surprise that Mike Matheny went to Boggs instead.
