Frandsen was released by the Diamondbacks on Friday, Nick Piecoro of AZCentral.com reports. Frandsen hit .309 in 26 games with Triple-A Reno to begin the year, but just two of his 25 hits went for extra bases (both doubles) and it seems the Diamondbacks decided he wouldn't be an option for the major league club anytime soon. The 33-year-old will look to latch on elsewhere as organizational depth.
