Frandsen signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Sunday, ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick reports. After being released by the Diamondbacks two days ago, Frandsen quickly found work with the organization that selected him in the 12th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft. Frandsen, who slashed .309/.352/.333 over 81 at-bats with Triple-A Reno in the Diamondbacks' organization, will likely stay in the Pacific Coast League and head to Triple-A Sacramento. His versatility could allow him to earn his way back to the big leagues if injuries decimate the Giants' depth at multiple positions.
