Frandsen has struggled badly at the plate this spring, hitting .097/.216/./097 in 31 at-bats. His job is not in jeopardy, however, and Frandsen should still head north as part of the Nationals' bench. Anthony Rendon's knee injury could open up some at-bats at third base in the season's first weeks, but Frandsen will need to find his hitting stroke quickly if he wants to earn a large share of that playing time.
