FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Marlins are "closing in" on a deal with Garrett Jones. Rosenthal says the pact could be for two years, though the financials aren't available yet. Jones hit only .233/.289/.419 across 440 plate appearances in 2013, but he's not a bad platoon guy with a career .271/.337/.489 line against right-handed pitching. Once Jones is officially aboard with the Fish, expect Miami to go all out in pursuing a trade of Logan Morrison.
