EDGE Analysis
It wasn't vintage Fernandez, but the 24-year-old gave his team seven solid innings. The Marlins' ace didn't lock in until the third frame after allowing a single to Freddie Freeman. Matt Kemp then blistered a line drive that Dee Gordon snared at second, and he was able to double-up Freeman at first. From there, Fernandez didn't allow another hit all night. Entering the night, Fernandez led the majors with a 12.8 K/9, but he finished with just three Wednesday, marking the first time in 28 starts he had fewer than five.
