Anderson (shoulder) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list Wednesday to start the third game of the Brewers' home series with the Cardinals, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Milwaukee has yet to confirm that Anderson will take the hill that day to make his first start since Sept. 1, but the southpaw looks to be tracking toward a return after completing a bullpen session earlier in the weekend. Because he hasn't completed a simulated game or minor-league rehab outing, Anderson could be in store for a lighter workload than usual if he rejoins the rotation Wednesday. Before landing on the shelf with a bruised left shoulder, Anderson compiled a 4-8 record, 4.18 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 21 starts.
