ESPN Chicago's Bruce Levine reports that Jerry Hairston has opted to retire, ending his 16-year MLB career. Levine also reports Hairston will slide right into a role as an analyst before and after Dodgers games. Hairston, 37, finished 2013 with a .539 OPS in 226 trips to the plate with the Dodgers. He retires with a career .692 OPS in just short of 5,000 plate appearances.
