Erik Bedard was torched by the Tigers en route to his sixth loss, allowing six runs in two innings on Thursday. Bedard allowed three home runs in the first inning. Manager Joe Maddon chose to go to Cesar Ramos to start the third inning, making this Bedard's shortest outing of the season. Overall, he allowed eight hits, walked two, and didn't record a strikeout. The 35-year-old has looked strong at times, but 2014 has mostly been forgettable. Bedard will carry a 4.82 ERA, a 1.49 WHIP, and a 64/29 K/BB ratio into next week's home start against the Royals.
