Dunn announced his retirement from baseball following the Athletics' season-ending loss in Tuesday's American League Wild Card game, ESPN.com reports. Dunn never got in the game Tuesday in his first taste of the postseason in his 14-year career, but the 34-year-old is content to pack it in after a successful run with the Reds, Nationals, Diamondbacks, White Sox and Athletics. Though his time in the majors was often marred by a prodigious strikeout rate, his ability to draw walks (.364 career OBP) and hit for power (462 home runs) made his in asset in the middle of the order. So long, Big Donkey.
