Doubront (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery Tuesday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander received a second opinion on his elbow injury Monday, and his doctor decided that there was enough damage to require surgery. Doubront was supposed to be the Athletics' fifth starter, but he was sidelined with elbow tightness following his final spring start and will now likely miss the rest of the season with the injury. Now that he is going to miss the rest of the season, Jesse Hahn could take over as the fifth starter for Oakland.
