Diamondbacks re-signed INF Eric Chavez to a one-year contract. There's no word on the financials of the deal. Chavez has revitalized his career over the past two seasons batting .281/.341/.488 with 25 homers in 567 plate appearances. It's not a great spot for him, as he'll be a backup at third and first base, but Chavez preferred to stay close to his Phoenix home.
