Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said Saturday that despite the signing of Cody Ross, that neither Jason Kubel or Justin Upton were guaranteed to be traded. Towers elaborated, explaining he has ownership backing to hang onto all four outfielders and enter the season with a payroll in the neighborhood of $95 million. They could choose to play Ross in center field, and let Adam Eaton start the season at Triple-A, but trading Kubel or Upton still appears to be the most likely scenario.
