Krol was out of options, so a DFA was the only way to remove him from the active roster and clear a spot for Michael Fulmer (neck). After being called up July 7, the lefty allowed two runs in 4.2 innings while striking out four and walking two. Given his success, albeit in a small sample size, Krol could find himself back in the big-league bullpen this season if injuries create another opening.
