Davis was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Saturday, Brendan Kuty of the Star-Ledger reports.

EDGE Analysis

This move was a result of Mark Teixeira being activated from the DL. If Davis clears waivers he will head to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Mets started Davis for a stretch in mid-June, but the veteran went just 3-for-14 with five K's. They have opted to leave Rob Refsnyder with backup duties at first.
