Crain (biceps) was scratched from his start Wednesday due to mild soreness, but expects to pitch Friday, Daryl Van Shouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Crain would benefit greatly from some audition time in major league games, as he entered camp without a guaranteed roster spot. He should rejoin the big league club later next week, but would need to impress over a short span to break camp with the team.
