Correia was designated for assignment Tuesday. Correia gave up nine runs in his last start, pushing his ERA to 6.56 through five outings. He'll be replaced in the starting rotation by Severino Gonzalez, who was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley for the corresponding transactions.
