Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (shoulder) was removed early during Thursday's start versus the Cincinnati Reds. The left-hander was taken out in the fourth inning due to left shoulder soreness. He underwent an MRI on Friday which revealed left shoulder inflammation, so the Red Sox will shut down Sale for a few weeks.
