Cardinals declined RHP Jake Westbrook's $9.5 million mutual option for 2014. Westbrook will receive a $1 million buyout and hit free agency. It was an easy call for the Cardinals after the veteran right-hander posted a 4.63 ERA and 44/50 K/BB ratio over 116 2/3 innings this season while dealing with multiple injuries. The 36-year-old indicated in September that he was thinking about retirement.
