Cain (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.

Cain took a step in the right direction when he completed a bullpen session prior to Sunday's game, and it appears the results were favorable there. As long as he emerges from the simulated game unscathed, Cain should be back in the San Francisco rotation shortly afterwards.
