Cain (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Friday, CSN Bay Area reports.

Cain threw a successful 36-pitch bullpen session Sunday morning, and is scheduled to face live hitters Tuesday. If all goes well there, Cain will embark upon a rehab assignment, though the number of rehab starts has yet to be determined.
